kabîrsays:"osadhu!hearmydeathlesswords.ifyouwantyour
owngood,examineandconsiderthemwell.
youhaveestrangedyourselffromthecreator,ofwhomyouhave
sprung:youhavelostyourreason,youhaveboughtdeath.
alldoctrinesandallteachingsaresprungfromhim,fromhim
theygrow:knowthisforcertain,andhavenofear.
hearfrommethetidingsofthisgreattruth!
whosenamedoyousing,andonwhomdoyoumeditate?o,come
forthfromthisentanglement!
hedwellsattheheartofallthings,sowhytakerefugeinempty
desolation?
ifyouplacetheguruatadistancefromyou,thenitisbutthe
distancethatyouhonour:
ifindeedthemasterbefaraway,thenwhoisitelsethatis
creatingthisworld?
whenyouthinkthatheisnothere,thenyouwanderfurtherand
furtheraway,andseekhiminvainwithtears.
whereheisfaroff,thereheisunattainable:whereheisnear,
heisverybliss.
